Stop motion of today’s snow. If I can’t be in school, I’ll make art at home! Annoying tune is my rendition of “Aint Misbehavin’” in Garage Band (hah, need a bit more practice on that!).

“Tumblr ya habla el mismo idioma que Andreu Buenafuente”
(“Tumblr now speaks the same language as Andreu Buenafuente”).

I’m telling you, Spain is doing good things in the art world. Hope I get to visit someday.

Kusudama (origami which is glued or folded into a ball)… Big inspiration for my multiples project (Sculpture II)

Multiples ball of paper mache… while it was still in one piece! Guess I know how to make a good pinata now in case I ever need THAT skill.

To those who may be waiting for them:

Pictures/documentation of my multiples project are on my phone, I have yet to figure out how to get them into my computer. Soon I will prevail… you can’t confuse me forever, Verizon mobile.

Athena Mace (my collaborator) standing by my giant inkwell. She built a giant ink pen with a sword handle for this scale project in sculpture 2, so it made sense for me to plaster rake a giant pot of ink to go with it. We jointly made our own red ink (a gum arabic recipe- thanks Claudia H.!) to fill it.
During our “performance”, we used the ink to draw on a giant sheet of watercolor paper, showing all three objects to be fully functional, even though they were a bit unwieldy at that size. Success!

New Hybrid Media final meets Sculpture Final… the result is “Ingrid Mirror Ray”, a one-day installation in a darkened BUFU (By Us For U at Cornish) gallery, in which a half wall with a mylar screen separates viewers from a cloud of fog, through which the image of Ingrid Butler (Cornish Dance) is projected. The result is a vision of an ethereal yet colorful figure who performs a sweeping dance at the ends of beams of cloudy light.

“Branches in the Clouds”, my first New Hybrid Media Project (of three). Dance performance and choreography by Sarah Butler (Cornish Dance).

Lesson 3: This is how you make sure a tree is born. Or how you make sure a squirrel will be happy. Or how you make sure your legs hurt from crouching… or all three.

Lesson 2: even though it may look similar, grass does not behave like hair.
